Voicing Dissent: Public Intellectuals and Conversation

Please watch the footage of Dr. King's appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press." King was upset following his appearance due to the nature of the questions he was asked by the panelists.

Watch here.

Another discussion you might find interesting is a panel discussion between Wyatt Walker, of SCLC, James Farmer, founder of CORE, minister Malcolm X, and Alan Morrison, New York editor of "Ebony" which aired on PBS in 1963. Watch here. The topic was "Race Relations in Crisis." Remarkably, this conversation took place the day Medgar Evers was assassinated.
